Who We Are

was created, by Michael Barth, to allow the customer the opportunity to express their style and wood choices in items to be used either in their homes or given as gifts to friends and family.  You can create  a completely unique item that stands out or blends in with any decor. Each person has their own distinct style; why not give them an opportunity to become the designer of that unique gift themselves.

I have been making fine wood gifts for over 30 years; always trying to gain the sense of style and decor of the customer to create that one unique item they will treasure for decades.  

 

Always on the look out for that unusual piece of wood, with many different species to chose from in making that unique item for you.  Look at the Wood Samples page to see just a few.  If I do not have the species, I can probably find it.

Located in North Texas, Wood Expressions has access to many sources of materials from the common everyday woods to the classic hardwoods and to the exotic accent woods that make projects standout. Whether the piece is functional and simple or more decorative and ornamental there is a wood or combination of woods to match each person's unique style. I enjoy helping bring out the creativeness in people so they can have that unique and stunningly beautiful piece they will treasure for a life time.

The pictures are merely items I have  designed either on my own  or while helping a customer select the the perfect combination of color and style. I would prefer to do individual pieces not reproductions of existing items but will do those as well.  If you have an idea and do not see something that matches your exact thoughts then contact me. Let's turn that idea into your very own masterpiece. Making each piece only after it is ordered, the only inventory is wonderful pieces of lumber which can be turned into your masterpiece within a very short time. Most items take less than 2 weeks but finishing is always determined by weather conditions in my area.  Some of the more custom items may take  a bit longer depending on the complexity and availability of the species at local wood suppliers.

Just a note on the Mesquite wood used.  It is all acquired from a supplier who saves these magnificent trees from the burn piles of south Texas, where farmers remove them from their land and burn them as they clear these trees from farm and ranch lands.

I do make custom furniture alongside gift items but cannot offer these via the internet, at this moment.  If you are within 4-5 hours of the Dallas area and are looking for a custom piece or reproduced piece of furniture I might just be able to help you come up with that piece. 

Please keep in mind that any picture of wood can only depict that piece of wood.  As natural objects wood species take on many varied colorations and grain patterns.  I strive to always find the interesting grains and colors that enhance the item being produced.
